Welcome to our RFID blog, which will be our go to place for all things RFID!
The RFID team would like to keep you up-to date with what's happening with this exciting project.

Yesterday, the team got together to go over the finer points for our RFID Tender Specification.  Very shortly this will go out to tender, and we hope to have a vendor on board in August!  This means final decisions will be made about what system we wish to go with, and how this new system will be implemented into our floor space and workflows.


The Tagging Project
The tagging project (whereby all stock will need to be tagged with RFID tags) will be commencing in September and will go through to its completion which we envision to be November.
All staff will have the opportunity to participate in the tagging project, and we are also extending the invitation to all council staff who may be interested, to come and have a go and help us with this momentous task.
Selected volunteers can also join in and help.
A roster will be put together of who will be tagging and when.  We are thinking of doing 1 hour block rotations.  Training will be coming soon, as soon as we get the equipment and tags!
We are also devising some Fun things to be a part of this project, so stay tuned!  :)


General Timeline
A general timeline of events are as follows, (all being well & that everything falls into the Master Plan!)

Tagging - Sept-End of Nov 2015
Installation and Desk conversion - date yet to be determined - we will have a clearer picture once we have met with the vendor
Staff training of the new RFID system - April 2016.
Go live with RFID at both sites - May / June 2016
