When in doubt, go for the edges

Just sharing a pearl of wisdom gleaned from our RFID library service peers experiences...

If you are tagging AV discs and the donut tag doesn't register, then try moving the disc around the edges of the pad, like so...

It will usually detect at some point on the edge.

This could occur for a number of reasons, such as the disc has metal all the way to the centre or the metal from the old tattle tape tag is interfering or some other mystery of the universe...

And as per Kristina's previous email, please weed collections as you are tagging. If something is tatty then don't waste tags on it. If in any doubt then please talk to your friendly local Collections Team member :)
