The lockable cash drawer is now in the top drawer of the fixed pod drawers...and everyone has their own key! So no more having to share keys, and no more having to turn your back to the customer and bend down awkwardly to take payments and grab change. And even better, the key is the same one as the Goodwood pod, so there is one key to rule them all (okay, yes, I'll stop now).

In further post-RFID reno upcoming improvement news, AJ and his crew have been working on getting swipe card security happening for access to the Goodwood staff workroom. You may have seen the swipe panels that have been installed next to the doors - and the staff door by the Tech Help/Catalogue PC that now only opens one way. This is a yay for security for our staff belongings and equipment, and a yay for ease of access (a card rather than a key) but unfortunately after the install was already in progress we found out that this swipe card system is a standalone one, not connected to the council's main security system. That means that will we have to have a second card to provide access for Goodwood. However, AJ is going to work at getting it incorporated into the council system in a future year's budget. The system isn't yet functional - they are waiting on the final install to make it active - but we will let you know as soon we hear that it is happening.
